Because of my public profile as an LGBTQ2+ advocate, I am often asked to consult organizations or to speak at various events. These engagements are typically educational and involve elements of personal storytelling.
When hired to consult with organizations, we typically discuss diversity and inclusion and how to improve policies and practices.
I have participated in Human Resources Roundtables, where guests are looking to improve their knowledge and better accommodate their employees and customers. I have spoken at Pride events to touch on the struggles that LGBTQ2+ people face and how we as a community can address those struggles and work to mitigate them. I have also spoken to classrooms where I have educated healthcare professionals on the difficulties of accessing LGBTQ2+ friendly and inclusive care, and about the cracks in our system that people can fall through.
